A pair of former Georgia players recently was asked about the upcoming College Football Playoff National Championship showdown with Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide in Atlanta.

The SEC Network posted soundbites on Friday with comments from former running back Todd Gurley and former tight end Orson Charles. The duo gave their take on the upcoming showdown.

“You already know Georgia’s going to win,” Charles said. “I don’t think it’ll be a blowout. It’ll be a hard-fought, old school SEC matchup. But I definitely think Georgia is going to come out on top.

“We’re definitely going to beat them.”

Gurley echoed that sentiment after emphasizing how excited he was over the 54-48 Rose Bowl semifinal win vs. Oklahoma.

“I was speechless. I was too excited, happy,” he said of the OU game. “I lost my voice. It was a good experience. Whether we won or whether we lost … It was good man. Definitely excited we got the win.”

Gurley is confident in the ‘Dawgs getting the job done vs. the Tide in Atlanta.

“We’re at home. We’re gonna get it done,” Gurley said. “Sorry Bama, but you’ve got to lose. I need my ‘Dawgs to win.”

Georgia and Alabama kick off at 8 p.m. ET Monday. The game will be televised on ESPN.
