Quarterback battles are one of the most intriguing parts of training camp, and the SEC is full of them at the moment.

From champion Alabama to last place Tennessee, there are many competitions to keep an eye on as we inch closer to the start of the college football season.

SEC Network analyst Tony Barnhart recently chimed in on what he thinks will happen in each of these SEC battles:

After saving the Crimson Tide’s season in the second half of the national championship game, Barnhart expects Saban to stick with sophomore Tua Tagovailoa over junior Jalen Hurts.

Cole Kelley is expected to beat out Ty Storey in Fayetteville. He played in eight games in 2017 and threw for 1,002 yards and eight touchdowns.

Kyle Trask is ready to move on from being just a backup, and Barnhart thinks Mullen will select him over Feleipe Franks.

Jake Fromm will probably retain his spot at starter after leading the Bulldogs to the national title game last year, and highly-touted freshman Justin Fields may just have to be patient and wait for his chance.

While Mark Stoops wants to give Gunnar Hoak and Terry Wilson both snaps early in the season, Barnhart has Hoak eventually winning the role for the Wildcats.

LSU has four quarterbacks vying for the spot under center, graduate Joe Burrow may have an upper hand in the mind of coach Orgeron.

Tennessee’s quarterback battle is pretty interesting. On one hand, you have a young Jarrett Guarantano who is yet to reach his potential, and on the other, you have graduate transfer Keller Chryst, who can bring experience to a young offense.

Barnhart has freshman Nick Starkel beating out Kellen Mond at Texas A&M. Mond played in nine games in 2017 and passed for 1,297 yards and seven touchdowns.
