Alabama DB Tony Brown blazes his way into the NCAA Track and Field Championships
Many consider defensive back Anthony Averett, who has been clocked around 4.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to be the fastest man on Alabama’s roster. He may not even be the fastest man in the Crimson Tide’s secondary.
Tony Brown represented Alabama in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Track and Field East Regional on Friday, and he sped past the competition en route to punching his ticket for the championships.

Brown’s 10.39 seconds in the 100 meters was fast enough to earn him a spot in the NCAA Championships, which will be held in Eugene, Ore., from June 7-10, but he’s previously covered this stretch of ground in less time. To qualify for Friday’s quarterfinals, Brown ran the 100 meters in a personal-best 10.27 seconds.
Good luck trying to get behind Alabama’s secondary in 2017.
