Tony Vitello and his national championship-winning Vols baseball team were honored as the “12th Titan” by the Tennessee Titans ahead of the team’s matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Vitello was joined by pitchers A.J. Russell, Zander Sechrist, and Kirby Connell, with strength coach Quentin Eberhardt also making an appearance. They also played “Rocky Top” in the stadium to further honor the Tennessee tradition in the moment.

Tennessee won the national title in baseball over the summer, marking the first the Vols have won in any sport since 2009. It also marked the 24th national title in program history across all sports.

The Vols have had a good deal of success under Vitello, making it to the College World Series 3 times, winning the SEC Regular-Season and Tournament twice over the past four years.

Tennessee baseball opens the SEC schedule, which was recently announced, against Florida at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on March 14-16, looking to repeat the same type of success moving into a new year.

Vitello signed a five-year contract in August worth a reported $3 million annually.
