Few states produce more talent than Louisiana, and few football programs do better at keeping in-state talent at home than LSU.
So surprise, then, that a way-too-early look at Louisiana’s Top 10 prospects in 2017 shows seven leaning toward the Tigers, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings.
The rankings are fluid and are certain to change.
Defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin of Northside High in Lafayette is the state’s only five-star recruit as of now. He has committed to Les Miles and the Tigers.
Two four-star quarterbacks are in the Top 10. Both are considered dual-threats. Lowell Narcisse, 6-3, 200 pounds, is considered an LSU lean. Keytaon Thompson, 6-4, 210 pounds, has committed to Mississippi State.
He might have company, too. Cornerback Brad Stewart is considered a favorite to pick Mississippi State.
Here’s the most recent look at Louisiana’s Top 10, with predictions on where they’ll sign next February.
