With two of the current top five wide receiver prospects currently committed to Southeastern Conference programs, including the No. 1 prospect at his position nationally, Auburn is bringing in serious upgrades in talent at that position for the 2016 recruiting cycle.

On the list below of the five current best SEC wide receiver commits — one thing jumps out — the size of the prospects. Every one is more than 6 feet, 1 inch in height and most weigh more than 200 pounds — that’s a lot of size for this particular position.

1. Kyle Davis, Auburn

Davis, the top wide receiver prospect in the 2016 recruiting cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings, is a huge prospect at his position- measuring in at 6-foot-1.5, 218 pounds. Davis not only has the physical make-up to compete for a starting job right away (he’s enrolling early so he should make some noise rather quickly on the plains), he’s got excellent hands and ball skills and continuously showed a knack for making tough catches during the evaluation process. Davis hails from Archer High in Lawrenceville, Ga., which is a high school program on a serious roll in terms of producing top talent.

2. DeKaylin Metcalf, Ole Miss

Metcalf is another high-end wide receiver prospect with great size. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound local product from Oxford (Miss.) High, has elite athleticism and hands and should prove to be an outstanding target for Ole Miss quarterbacks (including fellow incoming freshman Shea Patterson, who is elite), during his career with the Rebels. It’s always paramount to keep your talented players who are a stone’s throw from your campus at home and Metcalf, who has been committed to Ole Miss since 2013 and is a legacy, is a prime example of that.

3. Eli Stove, Auburn

The 6-foot-1, 178-pound Stove, from Niceville (Fla.) High, has game-breaking speed and while he’s not 6-foot-4 or 220 pounds, he still has good size at 6-1, 178. Once he adds a bit of strength and develops a bit, Stove could be one of the better receivers in the conference. His ability to make the big play happen makes him a perfect fit in Auburn’s offense, where he will get the chance to showcase those skills in space.

4. Freddie Swain, Florida

As Jim McElwain and his staff continue to try to stock the Gators roster with explosive playmakers, guys like Swain are a must. The Citra (Fla.) North Marion product is one of the more elusive receivers in the open field in the 2016 recruitin cycle. He’s also has good hands and the 6-foot-1, 188-pounder is outstanding at timing his jumps and shows good body control on jump ball situations. Swain is the nation’s No. 131 overall prospect per 247Sports Composite rankings. He is scheduled to enroll mid-term at and should help the Gators right away.

5. Javon Wims, Georgia

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Wims, from Hinds Community College in Mississippi, specializes in coming down with the jump ball. He’s outstanding at using his body to gain position on opposing defensive backs and times his jumps well to come down with the tough catch. Also, he’s not slow. In fact, he shows excellent speed for his size. If you are looking for a player to perhaps come out of nowhere on the field next season, Wims may be your guy given his skill set and looking at who else Georgia has on its roster at wide receiver. Watch this native of Jacksonville, Fla. (Ed White High School) very closely during the early stages of his career in Athens.
