The Tigers hosted their Big Cat recruiting event over the weekend and one player to come away impressed was junior college defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs. Was the weekend enough to push Auburn to the top of his crowded list?
Rated as the nation’s No. 7 JUCO prospect and No. 1 JUCO defensive end by 247Sports, Buggs has a growing offer sheet that includes Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida State and USC among others. While LSU is considered the current favorite to land Buggs, the Tigers look to have some stiff competition from their SEC West rival following the weekend.
“(Auburn) are on my list,” Buggs said according to Tom Green of AL.com. “They’ve been recruiting me throughout high school, too, and as soon as I got to junior college they stayed with me too, so they’re definitely on my list as well. They showed me how I can line up, how I can be effective here and there, just move me around in different spots so I can get a feel of how it is playing every position.”
Buggs still has one season left to play at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and plans to explore all of his options before narrowing down his list before his final season at the JUCO level.
