Trainer says it will be ‘very hard’ for Alabama to lose top 2017 recruit

Five-star RB Najee Harris, the nation’s top recruit in the class of 2017, committed to play at Alabama over a year ago.
Since then, he’s taken recruiting visits to a number of other schools. But, according to an AL.com article, Harris’s trainer, Marcus Malu, said he still believes Harris will suit up for the Crimson Tide after he graduates high school:
“That right there (a recruiting question), that would be for him,” Malu said. “But it’s going to be very hard for people to take him from ‘Bama. He’s a workout freak. He loves to work out. ‘Bama has the No. 1 strength and conditioning coach (Scott Cochran). When your strength coach is making half-a-mil, you know.”
That said, Malu added that Harris would still be taking looks at a lot of other top football schools:
“But he’s open,” Malu said. “Ohio State is there. I think UCLA is there. I think USC is there. I think Michigan is there, too. We just have to wait.
“I don’t even ask him about it. He’ll say the same thing, ‘I’m just focused on this year.'”
Harris, a California native, is at The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon, this week, along with some of the nation’s other top players.
If all goes according to plan, Harris will graduate from Antioch High School in December.
