Travel tracker: Taking a look at SEC teams’ road trips this week

Enjoy it while you can: At 164 miles, the Gamecocks’ trip to Athens this week is its shortest jaunt of the season. South Carolina’s remaining road games are trips to Missouri (870 miles), Texas A&M (1,037) and Tennessee (263).

Tiger Beat: Auburn is traveling 418 miles to LSU this week for its first road game of the season. After two home games and a bye week, the Tigers enter their toughest stretch of the season, with three road games in four weeks, beginning with Kentucky (486 miles) on Oct. 15, followed by Arkansas (663) on Oct. 24 and ending with Texas A&M (785) on Nov. 7.

Rebel Yell: Like Auburn, Ole Miss is playing its first road game of the season after taking a 166-mile trip to Tuscaloosa. It’s the Rebels’ shortest jaunt of the season, which includes matchups at Florida (665 miles), Memphis (85), Auburn (294) and Mississippi State (94).

Gator Nation: Florida also kicks off its road slate with a 717-mile trip to Lexington this week. The Gators’ remaining road games feature trips to Missouri (1,012 miles), LSU (591) and South Carolina (357).
