Trevor Etienne and brother Travis have a unique bond that stems from a childhood of competing and playing football with one another. ESPN’s Marty Smith documented the brothers’ history on a segment for SEC Network on Saturday.
Trevor explained that he was the kind of little brother that was always trying to follow Travis wherever he went, tailing him on his bike whenever he left the house.
In comparing himself to his brother, Trevor described Travis as a “one-cut and go guy” while he tabs himself as “shiftier” and a better receiving back, although they both are explosive.
Trevor also revealed that he wanted to get away from Clemson during his recruitment, as he felt like he had already been at the school. Thus, he felt that Florida was new to him and a solid fit.
The brothers talk every day about everything from football to life in general.
“I feel like I have him to help me reach those goals and aspirations,” Trevor said of his brother. “He’ll have a couple plays for me queued up after the game and ask me ‘What were you doing on this one?’ or ‘Where were your eyes?'”
Travis played football at Clemson from 2017-20, and rushed for 4,952 yards and 70 touchdowns and racked up 1,155 receiving yards and 8 receiving scores. He now plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and, after working through injuries in his first season, has rushed for 1,629 yards and 12 TDs over a season and a half.
Trevor has been one of the focal points of the Florida offense this season, and ripped off multiple explosive runs en route to recording 407 rushing yards and 3 TDs in a loaded backfield. The 5-foot-9 sophomore has aims to play in the NFL just like his older brother.
Since they were young, Travis Etienne told his brother Trevor not to leave a legacy, but to live a legacy.
