Troubling Ed Orgeron report reveals dire situation inside LSU program

Things got really bad really fast at LSU.
According to a report by Sports Illustrated, the school and head coach Ed Orgeron have agreed to part ways. Orgeron has been under fire as the Tigers struggled over the past 2 seasons, but the timing of the news is a bit surprising. LSU just beat Florida 49-42 on Saturday. The Tigers are currently 4-3.
Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports said the relationship had become untenable in a recent tweet:
A source familiar with the situation at LSU: “It’s one of those things where no one wanted to be there anymore. The players didn’t want to play for him, the coaches didn’t want to coach for him.”

Orgeron’s departure comes just two seasons after he led LSU to a 15-0 record and a national title in 2019. That success brought challenges along with high expectations.
Orgeron was forced to replace several talented players, including quarterback Joe Burrow, and both of his coordinators from that 2019 team.
