Second-year QB Dak Prescott had a huge performance for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night in a 28-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The former Mississippi State star threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the Cowboys’ impressive road win.

Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman, himself a Dallas Cowboys legend, was impressed with Prescott’s poise in a tough road environment.

As the Cowboys prepare for a big game against the Los Angeles Rams this week, Aikman told SportsDay that he thinks Prescott is coming into his own as a leader of the team:

“As far as Dak goes, I thought he played exceptionally well,” he said. “I thought he played great in a tough environment, on the road, prime time television. He made plays when they had to be made. I thought he showed great leadership and was kind of a calming influence in the early part of that game in keeping guys from getting too excited about the way that game began. So I was real proud of the win and thought a lot of guys stepped up their play.”

At 2-1 this season, the Cowboys don’t have much margin for error in a tight NFC East division race.

See if Prescott and his teammates can take care of business against the Rams on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern time on FOX.
