Tua Tagovailoa made his much-anticipated return in the Miami Dolphins’ game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, as he was recovering from another concussion that he sustained in Week 2 over the course of the past month and a half.
The Dolphins currently lead the Cardinals 27-25 in the fourth quarter, and Tagovailoa has appeared to not miss too much of a beat. He’s completed 26-of-34 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown in the game.
He’s also managed to pick up 13 yards with his legs, and when he slid to protect himself during one of his runs, the home crowd at Hard Rock Stadium rejoiced:

Tagovailoa has suffered a handful of concussions throughout his collegiate and professional career, at times because of him being hit in the backfield. But in other instances, he’s been running out of the pocket and has attempted to take on defenders at the point of attack.
Many media personalities and former coaches/players have spoken out about Tagovailoa needing to protect himself better amidst questions about his ability to continue playing football given his injury history. Thus, the entire league breathed a sigh of relief when it saw Tagovailoa slide against the Cardinals, as it seems to be a sign that the still-young quarterback is making better decisions in space.
