Tua Tagovailoa is thriving under 1st-year coach Mike McDaniel.

The Miami Dolphins improved to 8-3 on Sunday after defeating the Houston Texans 30-15. Tagovailoa had another efficient game, finishing 22-of-36 for 299 yards and 1 TD.

After the game, Tagovailoa was asked by CBS Sports what it was like to play with McDaniel. “Well, having someone that believes in you makes all the difference,” said Tagovailoa. “Having someone that calls me randomly just telling me how much I mean to him and the things he’s trying to accomplish and we are trying to accomplish as a team, it’s cool, I’ve never had that.”

Tagovailoa is in the midst of his best season as a pro. With still 6 games to play in the regular season, Tagovailoa is already approaching a career-high in passing yards.

The Dolphins will next travel to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
