Tulane unveils terrific ‘King of Mardi Gras’ City Edition uniforms

Tulane uniforms never, ever miss.
The Green Wave unveiled their City Edition “King of Mardi Gras” uniforms, which will be worn on August 12 (Week 2) as Tulane hosts South Alabama. Check out Tulane Football’s video showing off the threads below:
As you can see, the Angry Wave logo now has a yellow and purple jester hat on, similar to the TCU Rose Bowl helmets with the single rose or their Clover Frog for Dublin this season. The helmet is also airbrushed and garnished with beads with “UPTOWN” inscribed on the rear bumper. The Kelly green, purple and gold is a tough color scheme to pull off, but Tulane absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Making this uniform even more interesting, Tulane picked these jerseys for August 12 matchup against South Alabama, a program based in Mobile, Alabama. New Orleans may be the city most famously associated with Mardi Gras, but Mobile claims to be its birthplace. By naming these threads their “King of Mardi Gras” jerseys, Tulane is also poking some fun at the Jaguars.
Tulane is set to start a new era following former head coach Jon Sumrall’s departure for Florida. The Green Wave made the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history last season, and new HC Will Hall is looking to keep the Wave competitive for the CFP’s G6 bid again in 2026.
