Apparently committee members can just take a week off here and there and expect all of college football to not melt down. This was one of the most prevalent story lines from this week’s poll, and rightfully so. While one member does not make or break the committee, it adds fuel to the fire for those questioning the methods of the committee.
Twitter generally seems to be suspect of the committee and this week is no different:
@ESPNCFB @CFBPlayoff MSU should have leapfrogged the FSU team; almost losing & just winning is getting old! No big wins like last year!

It’s the inaugural College Football Playoff, sponsored by the Make-It-Up-As-You-Go Foundation. #TCUFootball

Who knew a playoff in college football could actually be worse than the BCS?
— Mo (@cpatt20) November 26, 2014
The College Football Playoff Committee is an absolute joke
— Jack Rogers (@J_Rogers32) November 26, 2014
I never thought I’d see an organization that makes congress look good. Congrats, @CFBPlayoff.

I happen to think @jefflongUA and the @CFBPlayoff pretty much #NailedIt.
— David Spracale (@DSpracale) November 26, 2014
Not one surprise in the college football playoff rankings this week.
— Adam Loewy (@Adam_Loewy) November 26, 2014
The clear message from @CFBPlayoff to both TCU and Baylor is “only if we have no other choice”.
— Davran (@dvran) November 26, 2014
That whole winning and losing speech from White Men Can’t Jump makes more sense than CFB Playoff Committee
— Jason Carter (@JasonSCarter) November 26, 2014
I would really love this “Las Vegas” guy/gal to be Archie’s replacement on the @CFBPlayoff committee. Looks like everyone respects him/her
— Carter Bryant (@CarterthePower) November 26, 2014
I do like how I’m sucked into debating @CFBPlayoff rankings that will change. No way Miss St makes the Final Four without winning the SEC.
— Newy Scruggs (@newyscruggs) November 26, 2014
I am convinced @CFBPlayoff have forgotten about the Rams. 10-1 and still not ranked? Boise State over us? WTF
— Mike B (@mikewbrouder) November 26, 2014
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. The committee and the CFB Rankings are a joke. They have no idea what they’re doing. @CFBPlayoff
— Kade Miller (@Kade_Miller3) November 26, 2014
I’m just wondering if CFB Playoff committee operating w/same criteria as old schoolyard pick-up ball: make it up as we go.
— MikeDubberlyGDA (@MikeDubberlyGDA) November 26, 2014
The @CFBPlayoff not only reveals new rankings each week, but a fun new metric as well!
— Hayden (@BUHMoney) November 26, 2014
It would probably be best for College Football Playoff selection committee if Jeff Long never talks again.
— CC Machine (@CCMachine) November 26, 2014
Not a fan of the college football playoff committee and how their criteria changes weekly. Seems to bring more chaos than the BCS.
— Dan Nemesek (@dnemesek) November 26, 2014
Marshall has beaten one team with a winning record, they’re 24th in the College Football Playoff Rankings. 10-1 @CSUFootball is out?
— Arran Andersen (@arranandersen) November 26, 2014
Just touched down in Anchorage and saw the new College Football Playoff rankings. “Hmmmm” is about all that needs to be said.
— Matt L. Stephens (@MattStephens) November 26, 2014
All it took was one person absent from the @CFBPlayoff committee to create mayhem. Cats/dogs sleeping together, up is black, down is left
— Brian Pedersen (@realBJP) November 26, 2014
Worked for the internet in Los Angeles before being lured back to Florida by SEC football and the promise of a bourbon bar. When he's not internetting or watching football, he's probably out giving himself 4-footers on the golf course.
