After a long offseason, the first week of college football usually changes people’s perceptions of certain teams. The beginning of the 2016 season was full of surprise upsets and notable performances, leaving many with new impressions.
Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, one of the most knowledgeable college football experts, released a new list of his current top 10 programs after Week 1 and two SEC teams made the cut.
For those who watched the SEC play on opening weekend, Feldman’s two choices should come as no surprise.
Georgia, which mounted an impressive comeback to topple No. 22 North Carolina, and Alabama, which rolled to a resounding 52-6 victory over Southern California, were the two team’s chosen. Feldman ranked the Bulldogs No. 9 on his list, while the Crimson Tide landed the No. 1 spot.
Alabama and Georgia should face easier opposition on Week 2, playing Western Kentucky and Nicholls State, respectively.
