According to ESPN, two of the nation’s top eight teams play in the SEC.
No. 2 Alabama and No. 8 Florida are two of the four SEC teams ranked in the top 25 of ESPN’s College Football Power Rankings.
The Crimson Tide solidified their case as one of the nation’s two best teams with a 31-6 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday. The Gators beat South Carolina 24-14.
Clemson was ESPN’s No. 1 team. The Tigers, who are also ranked No. 1 in the AP and Coaches polls, defeated Syracuse 37-27 Saturday.
Ohio State remained third in the ESPN rankings. Notre Dame moved up to fourth. Undefeated teams Oklahoma State and Iowa moved up a spot to fifth and sixth, respectively. Oklahoma jumped three spots to No. 7 following a 44-34 win over previous No. 4 Baylor. Florida was eighth, followed by Michigan State and Baylor.
LSU fell 10 spots in the rankings, from ninth to 19th, after losing 31-14 to Arkansas. Ole Miss is now 25th after being out of the rankings last week.
