Ty Evans will be disappointed that his time swinging the bat in Omaha is just about ever. The Florida outfielder has had a historic power surge in the College World Series.

Evans hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 7th inning, making him the first player to ever hit 5 home runs in the College World Series. Entering the CWS, Evans had just 4 homers in 2023.

Unfortunately for Florida, Evans’ solo homer was just the 3rd hit of the night through 7 innings. LSU has dominated the Gators in all phases of Monday night’s Game 3 to crown a national champion.

The Gators managed just 2 hits against LSU’s Thatcher Hurd over 7 innings. In a stellar outing, Hurd struck out 7 UF batters, issuing just 2 walks.

Evans’ homer came off of reliever Riley Cooper, his only hit allowed in an inning of work. LSU’s offense, meanwhile, has recorded 19 hits in 8 innings while plating 14 runs.
