It’s rivalry week, and there’s always a chance for a big upset.
LSU vs. Texas A&M, 7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network — LSU has been on the losing end of a few upsets over its last two games. First, it was Arkansas, and last week, it was Ole Miss. The Tigers enter the game as a 5.5-point favorite, but the talk around LSU hasn’t been centered around football. Les Miles may be coaching his last game at LSU and admitted that the chatter about his departure has been a distraction.
While many believe LSU will come out hot and put everything on the line for its coach, there are factors on the field that favor the Aggies. Texas A&M is riding a two-game win streak while the Tigers have appeared uninspired at times. Last week against a good Vanderbilt defense, Kyle Allen showed that he isn’t finished in College Station just yet, passing for 336 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
LSU has been vulnerable against solid QB play. Chad Kelly gashed the Tigers defense for 280 yards and a TD last week. Texas A&M RB Tra Carson also had a solid outing a week ago, making things easier for Allen. If the Aggies offense plays the way it did against Vanderbilt, it won’t be a happy going-out party for Miles.
