USA TODAY handicapper gives early Arkansas-Texas A&M spread/game prediction
The Arkansas Razorbacks have not beaten Texas A&M since Bret Bielema took over the program.
While John L. Smith was an interim coach for one season, the Razorbacks also lost in 2012, giving the Aggies a 5-0 lead in the last five contests. Arkansas has had chances to break the losing streak, but have come up short in the second half as of late.
The 2017 matchup features two coaches on the hot seat after early season failures. Texas A&M choked away a 34-point lead to UCLA, while Arkansas was dominated by 21 at home vs TCU. The teams will be relatively even heading into Week 4, but many are still wary of the Razorbacks’ recent failures, including USA TODAY oddsmaker Danny Sheridan.
Despite not having a great quarterback situation, Sheridan believes the Aggies will beat the Razorbacks. He appeared on Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly Wednesday afternoon and gave an early prediction.
Sheridan: Texas A&M doesn’t have a QB, but I would make A&M at least a 6- or 7-point favorite vs. Arkansas & would pick the Aggies to win.
