Depending on the size of the school, teams request a certain amount of tickets for its fans to attend games. For Tennessee, the team has six true home games in 2016.
The team’s first true home-opener will take place this Saturday against Ohio. Ohio has a smaller school in general, hence a lower amount of tickets necessary for its fans.
Earlier today Jimmy Hyams, a Knoxville sports host who covers the Volunteers, posted how many tickets opposing schools asked for when visiting Neyland Stadium this fall:
UT allotment request from opposing teams: Ohio
(2300) Florida (4500) Alabama
(7500) Tennessee Tech (2500) Kentucky (3500) Missouri (3500)— Jimmy Hyams (@JimmyHyams) September 14, 2016
In regard to the game against Ohio, few tickets remain:
Tennessee has only 200 single-game tix available for Ohio game. UT students requested more than 11,700 allotment, but still must claim them
