Utah used ‘tells’ to dominate Arkansas on defense, per Utes players

The Utah Utes easily dispatched the Arkansas Razorbacks 43-10 in Week 2. According to Utes players, the Razorbacks inadvertently aided their own downfall.
During Utah’s postgame press conference, linebacker Johnathan Hall and safety Nate Richie both credited their coaching staff for discovering tips all across Arkansas’ offense. The clues helped the Utes hold Arkansas to 61 rushing yards and break up a school-record 13 passes.
“Our coaches were really, really good at finding good tells,” Hall told reporters. “We really honed in on that this whole entire week and it paid off today for sure.”
“Credit goes to the coaches and just our team’s preparation,” Richie said. “We saw a lot of cues that could tell us when it’s run or pass, so we were ust able to capitalize on those things.”
Utah’s defense had some help in its efforts to stop Arkansas’ offense, but the Utes’ offense put on a clinic on its own. Quarterback Devon Dampier recorded 311 total yards and four total touchdowns in the game, while Noah Bennee paced the Utes with 113 receiving yards.
For better or worse, hearing this news before the start of SEC play is beneficial for the Razorbacks. Head coach Ryan Silverfield has time to diagnose the issues ahead of this weekend’s matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs. Arkansas and Georgia kick off at 12:00 p.m. E.T. on Saturday (ABC).
