Say what you will about the timing, but Vanderbilt is reportedly in talks to build a new football stadium in the near future.

Vanderbilt Stadium broke ground in 1922 and has been renovated several times, most recently a phase-phase, mult-million-dollar project from 2008-11 that featured construction of additional seating, football offices, locker rooms, recruiting facilities, etc. and much more.

It currently has a max capacity of 40,350, which ranks last in the SEC by about 23,688 seats. The Commodores also had the conference’s lowest total of attendance in 2015 with an average of 32,134 fans per home game.
