Grant Miller didn’t see the need to wait and committed to the Commodores on the spot Wednesday when Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason offered the Bradenton, Fla., prospect. Miller becomes the third commit to join Vandy’s 2017 recruiting class this week.

Shortly after pledging to the Commodores, Miller discussed his decision with Ryan Bartow of 247Sports.

“I was shocked,” Grant Miller said. “Vanderbilt is my dream school. I’ve been wanting to play for them for a long time. Great town and a great college. Big-time academics.”

While he plays his high school football in the Sunshine State, Miller is originally from Nashville, where his father Fred Miller played on the offensive line for the Tennessee Titans.

The 6-foot-4, 278-pound Miller is currently rated as a two-star prospect according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Miller chose the Commodores over offers from Minnesota, Colorado State, Fresno State, Marshall, MTSU and Southern Miss, among others.
