Vanderbilt stays hot in recruiting, lands commit from Louisiana DB prospect
One day after receiving his first scholarship offer from an SEC program, Geismar, La., defensive back Adam Sparks has committed to Vanderbilt.
While participating in a weekend camp, Sparks caught the eye of the Commodores coaching staff and landed a scholarship offer. The offer proved to be the one Sparks was waiting on, as he quickly took to Twitter to announce his commitment Monday:

The 6-foot, 170-pound Sparks is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 55 overall prospect from Louisiana according to 247Sports. Sparks committed to the Commodores over offers from Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, SMU and Tulane. The defender has also received interest from Arizona State but had yet to receive an offer from the school.
Judging by his junior highlight reel, Sparks has a tremendous knack of forcing turnovers and could be a real asset on Derek Mason’s already talented defense:
Vanderbilt now has nine total commitments pledged to the 2017 recruiting class. That number is still relatively low, however the Commodores had only one commit just over a week ago. Now with momentum on it side, the Vanderbilt’s class should only continue to grow before the season kicks off.
