Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, home of the Ole Miss Rebels, is getting a makeover prior to the 2016 football season.

Two new video boards, new concession stands and restrooms are among the many upgrades included in the project.

Joe Swingle, the Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Game Operations for Ole Miss, told the Oxford Citizen that the project is on schedule:

“They have been great, working hard, working seven days a week. They’re going to hit the deadline and Roy Anderson has been a great company to work with,” Swingle said looking up at the new 10,000 seat student section located in the north end zone. “I would say that The Pavilion was the only project larger that I’ve dealt with and this is very large. From last year, adding the 30 suites and also renovating the west sky boxes, all encompassing, it’s been quite a project.”

The new stadium will seat 64,038 fans. If the Rebels fill every seat for the Sept. 10 home opener against Wofford, it will be the largest crowd ever to watch a football game in the state of Mississippi.
