Only a sophomore, LSU defensive end Arden Key has already etched himself into the school record books.
During Saturday’s Citrus Bowl versus Louisville, the Atlanta native accrued his 12th sack on the season. It enabled Key to set an LSU record for the most sacks in a single season — besting a mark set previously by Gabe Northern. This was also LSU’s first safety since the 2012 season.
We're told #LSU's media guide is wrong.
Arden Key is now school record holder with 12 single-season sacks (broke Northern's record of 11).

LSU’s pass rush has completely discombobulated Louisville’s high-powered offense. Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson has been sacked seven times…and it’s only midway through the third quarter. This is a season high for LSU — besting the previous mark of six (versus Mississippi State).
While his preseason goal of 20 sacks is out of reach (barring something miraculous), LSU has to be thrilled with Key’s development as a pass rusher.
Heading into 2017, look for Key to be recognized as one of the nation’s most feared defenders.
