After Thursday’s practice, Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee spoke about the current quarterback competition.
Jeremy Johnson and Sean White both saw time commanding Gus Malzahn’s offense last season. However, there wasn’t much in the way of consistency. As such, Auburn brought in junior college transfer John Franklin III to spice up the situation at the position.
Based upon what Lashlee said, the theme of the fall thus far is ‘competition.’ There’s no timetable on when a starter will be officially announced. It’s also conceivable (per Lashlee) that a two-quarterback system could be the ultimate decision.
