If Ole Miss’ senior quarterback can achieve that mark this season, he’ll become the only SEC quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in multiple years. Kelly is trying to follow up a junior campaign that earned him numerous accolades, one in which he finished in the top 10 nationally in both passing yards (4,042) and touchdowns (31).
His first test as a senior will probably be one of the toughest. The No. 11 Rebels open their season against No. 4 Florida State and its vaunted defense at 8 p.m. tonight on ESPN.

Kelly will have to make due this season without star receiver Laquon Treadwell, who entered the NFL Draft after catching 82 balls for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns a year ago.
