The legend of Dak Prescott keeps growing.
The former Mississippi State and current Dallas Cowboys quarterback led a successful overtime drive in Sunday’s 29-23 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Prescott connected with former Tennessee tight end Jason Witten on a 5-yard touchdown pass to complete a 12-play, 75-yard drive with 7:48 remaining.
The play was very similar to former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel’s scrambling first quarter touchdown pass against Alabama in 2012. Here’s a comparison to see for yourself.
Prescott threw for 287 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 19 of 39 passing and rushed for 38 yards and a score on seven attempts. Despite a slow start, the rookie managed to improve late, which included leading an 11-play, 90-yard drive that resulted in a 22-yard touchdown to Dez Bryant to force overtime.
“I don’t care how bad I play early on,” Prescott told USA Today. “I don’t care what I do, I’m not going to give up.”
Sunday’s win was Prescott’s first in overtime and the sixth of his career since taking over for Tony Romo prior to Week 1.
