Video emerges of Tua Tagovailoa getting into ambulance outside Bryant-Denny Stadium

Some bad news for Alabama fans regarding the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa may have gotten worse.
A video shot by an Alabama fan outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa appears to show the Alabama junior entering an ambulance and taken away from the stadium for further evaluation. During the 2nd quarter of the Tide’s game against Tennessee, Tagovailoa sustained what appeared to be a lower leg injury during a tackle by Volunteers defensive lineman Greg Emerson.

Tagovailoa appeared to be entering the ambulance with little help, but the sight still isn’t a good one for Tide fans, especially considering the way he had been playing up to that point. Not only was he a potential Heisman Trophy candidate, but his numbers just past the midway point of the season were trending as well as they had in 2018.
The Athletic’s Aaron Suttles confirms that Tagovailoa isn’t at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

ESPN’s Molly McGrath also reported that Tagovailoa left in the ambulance and later returned to the locker room.
Mac Jones, a redshirt sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., stepped in for Tagovailoa. He entered the game at 14-of-21 for 165 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception in 5 appearances this year.
