After Peyton Manning retired from the NFL, Gatorade released a commercial showcasing some of the letters the former Tennessee quarterback wrote during his long career.
On Wednesday night at the ESPYs, a fake commercial was aired, spoofing the original ad.
The Manning family — Archie, Olivia, Eli and Cooper — team up with famous athletes like Derek Jeter, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, broadcaster Al Michaels and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michales to troll the two-time Super Bowl champion.
Reading fake letters, the participants make fun of Manning and themselves on a variety of topics — from Super Bowl victories to Papa John’s pizza.
“I just want you to know I think of you like a brother — a brother who lost to my other brother all the time,” Brady’s fake letter reads.
Jeter’s letter includes a shot at Eli.
“P.S. I just want to let you know you’re my favorite New York athlete,” Jeter reads. “Don’t tell Eli. Or tell him, I don’t care.”
Now that he’s retired, maybe Peyton will host SNL again and get back at his friends and family with a spoof of his own.
