Video: Gators remember Steve Spurrier as a player, coach with well-crafted tribute
What Steve Spurrier accomplished for Florida football can’t be understated.
The all-time winningest coach at two SEC programs won his only national championship (1996) in Gainesville, directed the programs to six conference titles and five times was named league coach of the year.
Before his dominant stretch as the Head Ball Coach at Florida, Spurrier the quarterback won the Heisman trophy at his alma-mater in 1966 and was a two-time All-American.
In light of his decision to resign at South Carolina on Tuesday, Florida honored Spurrier this week with a video montage of his greatest moments.
Well done, Gators.
