Video: Marcus Lattimore brings Christmas cheer to South Carolina flood victims
South Carolina running back great Marcus Lattimore returned home Sunday and took 25 children from the Georgetown County area on a shopping spree Sunday to ensure local children in need could have a Christmas following this fall’s deadly flooding in the area.
Lattimore gave 25 local children a Wal-Mart gift card and a new pair of shoes as part of the shopping spree. The South Carolina native told WISTV Channel 10 in Columbia, S.C., the images of the flooding affected him greatly and he wanted to help the children caught in the middle of the terrible tragedy.
“I just wanted to bring awareness to what’s really going on in Georgetown County.” Lattimore said to WIST. He added he wanted to dedicate himself to helping children and took to twitter after the event to say he wanted to bring the same holiday cheer across the state.
Come help me hit every city that was affected. #RebuildSC https://t.co/JCoZ1D40nH
