Video: MSU QB Nick Fitzgerald throws perfect strike to Donald Gray for long touchdown
Nick Fitzgerald and Donald Gray have quite the connection going against FCS Samford.
The duo has hooked up for a pair of long passing touchdowns, the most recent one a 74-yard bomb to extend the Bulldogs’ lead to 28-20 late in the second quarter. The first one was a 71-yard strike about six minutes into the game.
Gray, a junior, has already set his career-high for receiving yards on just two receptions.
The 145 yards receiving by Donald Gray are a career high.

The two big plays have helped Mississippi State hold off a pesky Samford squad that trails by just eight points heading into halftime. Fitzgerald’s longest pass of the season before today was just 46 yards, and he has already set a new high mark in just one half of football.
