The SEC has historically been known to produce some great tight ends.
If this year’s NFL Combine is any indication, the conference may be adding two names to the list of elite players at the position.
Alabama TE O.J. Howard and Ole Miss TE Evan Engram both ran terrific 40-times on Saturday. In the process, the draft stocks for each athlete surely improved.

At 6-foot-6, 249 pounds, Howard ripped off a 4.51 time. On his second attempt, he registered a 4.56 mark. For a man of his stature, this sort of time is simply special.
Y'all just now realizing O.J a freak lol

Though highly productive in college, Engram’s size was a question for some scouts. He doesn’t “appear” to be the prototypical tight end — though neither is Jordan Reed. At 6-foot-3, 234 pounds, Engram ran back-to-back times of 4.43 and 4.42 in the 40-yard dash.
As such, the Ole Miss product set the mark as the fastest time for any player at his position:

Though he was inexplicably not a finalist for the John Mackey Award, Engram finished his senior season with 65 grabs for 926 yards and eight touchdowns.

That'll silence some folks.
