Video: SEC Shorts spoofs Ole Miss fans still carrying around goal post from thrilling 2014 upset of Alabama
Ole Miss fans were rightfully proud of the Rebels’ two-game winning streak against Alabama, which began in 2014 with an upset of the top-ranked Crimson Tide that sent fans storming onto the field to tear down the goal post and carry it throughout Oxford.
Some fans may have been a bit too proud.
An SEC Shorts video posted Sunday depicts a group of bearded and ragged Ole Miss fans still carrying the goal post, only to be informed by a pair of Alabama fans that the winning streak had ended last Saturday. The group’s leader, who reveals the goal post made it as far as Colorado, stands in disbelief when informed the Rebels blew their three-touchdown lead.
