Watch: Tennessee coaches congratulate Micah Abernathy on earning SEC Defensive Player of the Week

Tennessee flipped a switch against Virginia Tech in the Battle at Bristol and sophomore safety Micah Abernathy played a big role in the 45-24 victory.
Abernathy set a single-game school record with three fumble recoveries against the Hokies. His first fumble recovery at the beginning of the second quarter helped the Vols rattle off 28 points before halftime and change the game’s momentum.
For his efforts, Abernathy was named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week. On Monday, the coaching staff called their talented young safety to congratulate him on the honor.

It was a nice gesture that demonstrates how Butch Jones and his staff appreciate the hard work put in by their players.
