Things aren’t going great for Tim Tebow in his first spring training game with the Mets in Port St. Lucie. He struck out on four pitches in his first at-bat, grounded into a double play in his second, and was struck on the shoulder before being tagged out on the base path in his third.

Adding to this unlucky day for the former Gator, it was another former Florida player that pegged Tebow in the shoulder in an apparent accident. Brian Johnson, the pitcher on the play, arrived in Gainesville just after Tebow departed. He played on the Gators’ baseball team from 2010-12 before being drafted in the first round by Boston in 2012.
An audible rain of boos came from the crowd once the former Gators star was hit, but he took the pitch without flinching and happily trotted to first base for his first reach of the day.
