After some bleak years, it appears as if the Tennessee Volunteers football program is on the path to national prominence.

Phil Fulmer’s rich 17-year career ended in 2008. Since then, the Vols have been plagued by inconsistency and uninspiring play. Between 2009-13, Tennessee had only one winning season.

After going 5-7 in his first year, head Butch Jones has led the program to back-to-back winning seasons. Now in his fourth year, Tennessee currently sits at 5-1 — with No. 1 Alabama headed to Knoxville this weekend.

Quarterback Josh Dobbs spoke to the media on Tuesday. Touching upon a number of topics, he delved into the contest versus the Crimson Tide this weekend, and also the current state of the program.
