Grading the broadcasters in Week 14: Fans dismiss Danielson, shower Uncle Verne with love

Verne Lundquist and broadcast partner Gary Danielson called their last SEC Championship Game together for CBS last Saturday, Alabama’s 54-16 victory over Florida. Uncle Verne is stepping down and being replaced by Brad Nessler, but throughout the Twitterverse, several fans were hoping for Danielson to step down as well:

Fans give Lundquist a proper goodbye

While some fans were unhappy to see Danielson stay, others were sad to see Lundquist walk away. After 17 years as the play-by-play voice of the SEC on CBS, Lundquist received an appropriate sendoff via Twitter:
