Vince Dooley Celebration of Life: Georgia announces service details for UGA legend

Georgia announced the service details for UGA legend Vince Dooley on Monday evening after the former head coach and athletic director recently passed away at 90 years old in late October.

The Celebration of Life event for Dooley will will be held on on Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. The service is open and free to the public.

“Coach Dooley meant so much to this University and the Athens Community,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said in a release. “This will be a tremendous opportunity to honor a man who meant the world to so many of us. Georgia Athletics wanted to give Bulldog fans a chance to pay tribute to Coach Dooley, and this is a great way to do that.”

Dooley remains Georgia’s winningest football coach with 201 victories, 6 SEC titles and the 1980 national championship in his 25 years leading the Bulldogs (1964-88).
