Von Miller reunited with old number with Rams, following blessing from family of franchise legend

Von Miller wore the No. 40 during his college days at Texas A&M, switching to No. 58 throughout a decorated 10-plus seasons with the Denver Broncos.
Now that he’s been traded to the Los Angeles Rams, it looks like he’ll be going back to his old jersey number, too.
The Rams on Monday announced that Miller would don the No. 40 jersey in L.A. And the number has a special place in Rams history as it was worn by franchise great Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch. Hirsch played for the Rams from 1949-1957, later serving as their general manager and eventually being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
According to the Rams, Hirsch’s family has given Miller the blessing to wear the number:

After playing his entire career with Denver, it will admittedly look odd to see Miller with the Rams. But as he said on Monday after the news of his trade broke, he will always have a special place in his heart for Broncos fans and the Denver community.
