First-year Washington coach Jimmy Lake has been a defensive assistant for the Huskies since 2014. He served as the team’s co-defensive coordinator in 2016 and 2017 and took over as the full defensive coordinator in 2018 and 2019.
So, let’s just say if anyone knows how tough new Mississippi State coach Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense is to stop, it’s Lake, as Leach spent the last several seasons at Washington State.
On Wednesday, Lake said he’s confident Leach’s Air Raid system will put up plenty of points in the SEC moving forward:
Washington coach Jimmy Lake, who schemed against Air Raid very well in Pac-12, on Mike Leach's offense at Mississippi State and early up-and-downs: "It really is a genius scheme and they're still going to put up a lot of points."

After a record-setting performance in Week 1 against LSU, the Bulldogs hit a snag against Arkansas last week. This weekend, they’ll try their luck against an 0-2 Kentucky team.
Will the Air Raid get on the scoreboard more this weekend?
