Washington gets bizarre unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for trick play

Down 7-0 in the first half against Oregon, coach Chris Petersen and the Washington Huskies decided to try a little trickery.
They had a player lay in the end zone during a kickoff, blending in with the purple and gold paint. He then took a throwback from the player on the other side of the field and had a huge return.
However, the play was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct:

Officials explained that it was a penalty because the Huskies had “intent to deceive.” No kidding, that’s part of every football team’s game plan.
No word on if Boise State will now be flagged on every down for wearing blue uniforms on blue turf.
