Alabama’s future certainly remains bright.
Any Alabama fans that might have tuned into ESPN on Saturday afternoon got a glimpse into the future as Hewitt-Trussville High School (AL) faced off against Cedar Grove (GA).
Five different Alabama commits showcased, including a pair of 4-stars in quarterback Paul Tyson and wide receiver Dazalin Worsham, who connected on this 39-yard touchdown pass to open up the scoring in the first quarter.

Tyson is the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019, per the 247 Sports Composite, while Worsham is the No. 20 wide receiver in the class of 2020. Other members of the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies that are currently pledged to Nick Saban are 2019 5-star offensive tackle Pierce Quick, and 2020 4-star cornerback Malachi Moore. On the Cedar Grove side, 2019 4-star defensive tackle Rashad Cheney is also committed to the Crimson Tide.
Cedar Grove beat Hewitt-Trussville on Saturday, 34-30. Tyson finished throwing 31-of-47 with 404 yards and 4 touchdowns, with two of those thrown to Worsham. Tyson will be in Tuscaloosa next fall, and is also the great-grandson of legendary Alabama head coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.
Alabama was not the only school with commits playing on national TV on Saturday. Auburn commitment and 3-star wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson plays for the Huskies as well, and Cedar Grove 5-star wide receiver Jadon Haselwood is a Georgia commit in the class of 2019.
