Former Oklahoma Sooners coach Barry Switzer had an interesting take on why current Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield grabbed “himself” in a game against Kansas last Saturday.

In case you missed it, Mayfield had quite an inappropriate gesture in the 41-3 win over the Jayhawks, which he later apologized for.

Switzer said he blames it all on a pair of pop music icons, not Mayfield.

“I blame it on Madonna and Michael Jackson. They started all that grabbing the crotch years ago,” Switzer said. “It’s been on social media, it’s been in the movies. We see it every day out there.

“All of a sudden everybody says we ought to fire him, ought to kick him off the team. They’re idiots. Thank God they’re not the coach of the Oklahoma Sooners.”

Long live Barry Switzer.
