WATCH: Bulldog commit looks well-equipped to shut down Georgia Tech’s triple option

Georgia commit Chris Smith II isn’t scheduled to arrive in Athens until next season, should he follow through and sign with the school.

But based on his most recent outing for Hapeville Charter Career Academy — located in College Park, Georgia — Smith could help the Bulldogs, or any other teams, for that matter, right away.

Smith II and his Hapeville teammates were facing South Atlanta. And one play showed why Smith II, a 5-foot-10, 169-pound defensive back, is such a highly valued prospect.

As soon as South Atlanta — which uses a triple-option scheme offensively — pitched the ball off, Smith II was all over him, leveling the ballcarrier with a massive hit.

Smith II is ranked as a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite.
