WATCH: Edouard Julien destroys ball to tie record for longest homer in TD Ameritrade Park

Mississippi State LHP Ethan Small won the SEC’s Pitcher of the Year award during the regular season, thanks in large part to his reputation as a strikeout artist.
He showed those skills in the first couple of innings against Auburn in the College World Series opener for both teams on Sunday evening, striking out the first five Tigers he faced.
However, after a single, Auburn sophomore Edouard Julien stepped to the plate and launched a pitch into the right-field stands. After being measured at 429 feet, it has officially tied the record for longest College World Series home run at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha:

Florida’s Peter Alonso also smacked a ball 429 feet during the 2015 College World Series. For good measure, Julien also singled in the Tigers’ third run in the top of the fourth inning:

Julien and the Tigers hold a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning.
